| I have been asked to define Witchcraft.
At the very least this is a major undertaking that can take the rest of
my life. One of my significant others says that I am making more
of it than it needs to be, and to that end I have invited her to write
something about the Craft. I do believe that she will do better at
it than I will in this particular effort. |
|
|
| Since it has been asked I will give it my best
try. Witchcraft is a philosophy of life that allows me to live in
this topsy-turvy world and still maintain some sense of internal balance.
It is a way of life that demands that I be responsible for my actions.
As a member of the craft I must do all I can to assist those who ask my
help in just cause, as well as to keep faith with myself, and the Lord
and Lady that I serve as High Priestess. |
|
|
| Being a Priestess is something one is chosen for
as much as one chooses to do it. It is a commitment that effects your entire
life and all those that are a part of your life. Being a Priestess of Wicca
is like acceptance of any other form of religious belief, if you do it
well you do it with your whole heart. It is a way of life as well as something
you give lip service to. |
|
|
| As a member of the Craft I believe in the reality
of the Earth as a living being full of creatures that need care and understanding.
I believe that I have an enduring soul that is being born time after time
in order to learn new lessons. Each time I am born I choose another type
of life to live and new lessons to learn. We react with other souls along
the way and as we do so we learn from them and they from us. |
|
|
| It is my true belief that I am responsible for
my own happiness in this world and that only I can make changes in my reality.
I alone control who can hurt me, and who can bring me pleasure. I
am aware that through my actions in this life I also change the manner
of life that I shall live in the future. If I have lived a life that has
brought pain and anguish, somewhere along the line I will live a life that
will balance that out by receiving that which has been given. |
|
|
| I try to live my life in a manner that is helpful
to others when needed and that is just in purpose. I try to show by example
that love is the way life should be lived. I hope by living a life of joy
and giving, I will in some way receive these same things in return. The
three fold law states that whatever I put out into this world I will receive
in return three fold, therefore it is my duty in life to bring as much
as good as I am able to others. |
|
|
| I frequently tell students that love is the answer
to all things, it is also the question to most things. If we approach life
as a gift of love we can only end up giving joy to those that we meet along
the way. On this site you will find many good books listed that can answer
almost any questions you can ask about what the Craft is and who the people
are that practice this ancient and beloved philosophy of life. Please feel
free to browse and after looking at the book list, and reading the other
articles that are printed here if there are still questions we can help
you with please use our E-mail. |
