| Since the request has been made for some
very basic spell work I have tried to put together four spells that work
with the basic elements. Each one has been
kept to a minimum for ease of doing, and in the hopes that you will find
items already in your house rather than having to go out and buy things. |
|
| In all spell work we try to bring a result
that will be healthy and appropriate to our physical, mental, and spiritual
needs. It is most important that before any work is done you make sure
that you are doing it in a manner that requires no loss to another person
nor anything that will bring harm to another individual. |
|
| You are responsible
for all your actions and everything you do will eventually return to you
in some manner by at least three-fold. |
|
First a short word about the use of
color.

| Color is used to help us visualize and
maximize certain properties, events, and/or actions in our magical process.
White can be used to replace any other color
since it is actually the combination of all color within the human spectrum.
The question of black arises frequently. I use it in candle
magic for works of reflection, reduction, and reversal. There is no
inherent evil quality to the color. It is the color of night, as
white is the color of day. Silver and Gold are frequently used
to represent the Moon and Sun, Goddess and God respectively. As well
as being used in many healing spells to attract the qualities of night
and day. |

A spell using the
elemental quality of Air.
|
| Using the aspect of air to actualize the
magical process you can create a spell to help you open your powers of
concentration so you can learn with more ease. |
|
| Take some yellow ½ inch ribbon
and cut it into as many 18-inch lengths as you want. Try not to use
paper ribbon, try to use actual cloth ribbon. Then sew a small bell
to one end of each ribbon. |
|
| On each strip of ribbon I will write this
simple statement in permanent ink.
“With the ringing of this bell I will be
reminded to listen with an open mind to the new information that is coming
to me from the universe.” |
|
| Then take the ribbons and hang them on
some of the trees around your yard where they will catch the air as it
passes by them. If you don't have a yard or trees, hang them in a
doorway where people passing will set them to ringing. |
|

A spell using the
elemental quality of Fire.
|
|
| Using the aspect of Fire to actualize
the magical process you can create a spell to help you make some healthy
changes in your currant life style. This one is to help you stop
smoking. |
|
| Use a red marking pen on parchment paper
to write your will concerning this action.
“To this end I will visualize the fire
consuming the paper in flame and as it does so I will feel my need for
tobacco becoming less and less. I do this to promote better health
for myself and those around me.” |
|
| Then wrap the paper into a tube and tie
it securely with a piece of red ribbon about 3 inches long. Placing
this on a fire proof surface such as the BBQ grill on the back porch,
light the tube with a safety match or lighter, and let it burn to a fine
ash. |

A spell using the
elemental quality of Water.
|
|
| Using the aspect of water to actualize
the magical process you can create a spell that will help you in healing
yourself. This one is to help heal a nagging back pain that I have
gotten from a pulled muscle. You can use it for any pain. (Please
note that I do this not as a replacement for regular medical care, but
as an adjunct to my spiritual healing of both body and mind.) |

| Use a simple metal strainer from the kitchen,
a garden hose in the yard and some dirt that you have gotten from the garden
bed. Fill the strainer with the dirt and then balance it on some
stones to keep it above the ground by about an inch or two clearance. As
you let the water trickle from the hose over the dirt in the strainer visualize
the your pain lessening as the dirt is washed away. Use the
power of the water to lessen the reality of the pain. |

elemental quality of Earth.
|
|
| Using the aspect of earth to actualize
the magical process you can going to create a spell to help to increase
the amount of income that you are now receiving. Use salt as the
representation of the earth itself, since salt has such a long history
of being worth its weight in trade and because it is a necessary element
of our physical bodies. |
|
| Place a small dish of salt on your altar
and on top of the salt place a dollar bill. Set before that a small
sheet of paper that contains your will about the outcome of the spell.
