| We, the Cats of Amberwood, welcome you to
our page. We hope you enjoy your visit with us and come back often.
Our home is rather unusual in the fact that we live in a Clowder (a group
of Cats) as opposed to the normal solitary or semi-solitary existence that
most Cats live in. This is mainly because most of us are rescues
and no longer travel about outside of Amberwood. Our wandering days
are thru, thankfully. It is much nicer to know where our next meal
is coming from. |
|
| Should you care to help Mom & Dad buy
food, pay the vets for spaying and neutering, and repair our habitat, feel
free to donate. It would be greatly appreciated as sometimes we cost
a lot and Mom & Dad aren't made of money! |

|
| The population at Amberwood is ever changing,
sometimes it swells to great numbers and other times there are just a few
Cats here. We believe in birth control here but sometimes little ones are
unavoidable. (Sick people toss pregnant Moms out of cars, irresponsible
people don't spay and neuter, etc) As soon as is safe for the Mom
after she has given birth, and all the young ones are old enough, everyone
is spayed and neutered. |
|
| Lest you think that Amberwood is a large
organization, let me explain. Amberwood is located in the forest
of Washington state at a single family home. Just so happens that the people
living here love us Cats and hate to see us being abused or unloved or
just plain starving out in the world, so they take us in. They get
us healthy, spay and neuter us, and try to find us loving homes. Some of
us have been so abused that we just stay here, it would be too hard on
us to go to new homes. Thru-out these pages you will be able to read
our stories. Amberwood is our refuge from the cruelties of this world,
our rejuvenation, a place to be happy and secure. |
|
| Our adopted Mom & Dad didn't want us
to experience coyotes and racoons up close, but realized that we would
want to bask in the sun and feel the wind on our faces so they built us
a habitat! They enclosed the back deck and put in planters of grass
and logs to scratch even. They even installed a cat door so that
we can come and go as we please. It's a great place! Usually
we can play in the sun, roll in the snow, munch on grass and generally
tear things up all while breathing nice fresh air. However, sometimes it
needs maintenance and is closed off till its fixed. Right now is
one of those times. |

|
| Soon we will have pictures and a little
bit about each cat, but right now we are under construction. Some
cats may not have a picture available and may have moved on but we will
put up as many as we can. We will also be adding other cat stuff and cat
links... so check back with us! |
