Lady of the dawn, sweet Bast ,
Hear your daughters words this day.
I ask as one who seeks the aid of a friend.

My heart is saddened by the loss of a dear one,
This four footed friend was a part of my life
and family  for many years.

They have passed from this reality into the underworld.
See that their passing spirit is welcomed 
into the summer land that they shall share with you.

They have warmed my heart for many years,
I pray that their next life be one of joy 
and love.
